Hurricane Sandy devastated the East Coast, especially New York City and areas of Northern New Jersey with record setting rainfall and subsequent flooding.

First and foremost – please donate to the Red Cross – any amount helps! Powerhouse is donating a percentage of all profits to disaster relief efforts.

Powerhouse was ready, and staged rental equipment, auxiliaries and boiler technicians in anticipation for the storm. Even before the storm, we were sending out portable boiler rooms to Philadelphia, New York City, Northern New Jersey and other areas anticipating flooding and power outages.

After the storm hit, things were worse than expected, especially for New York City and North Jersey. The main district steam utility in NYC, ConEdison, lost service at several of their substations and were unable to supply steam and electricity to several areas of the city, requiring hospitals, schools, apartment buildings, offices and other facilities to seek a direct supplier for their temporary utility needs – enter Powerhouse.
